Elephant Gerald’s Jazz Jam is a weekly, open jazz session at The Old Post, built for players and singers who want to get up and jam—no fluff, no gatekeeping. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just getting your feet under you, this is a place to call tunes, sit in, and make some music.
Each night is anchored by a rotating house band, keeping things tight while leaving plenty of room for guests to jump in. Expect a mix of standards, swing, blues, and whatever else gets called on the bandstand.
We run a different theme each week of the month to keep things fresh:
1st Wednesday – Country Jazz Jam with The High Noon Swing Band
2nd Wednesday – Swing Standards Jazz Jam with The JIVE
3rd Wednesday – Anything Goes Jazz Jam with Elephant Gerald's House Picks
4th Wednesday – Gypsy Jazz Jam with The Skalsky Brothers
5th Wednesday (when it lands) – Singers Wanted (Vocal Spotlight)
Guest sign-up starts at 6:45pm, just before the set at 7pm, and the music runs for two solid hours. Bring your instrument, bring a tune, or just come hang and hear what happens.
